Is ToneWoodAmp compatible with Ovation Guitars?

The short answer is No. The round back tends to be problematic with the ToneWoodAmp.

ToneWoodAmp requires a flat, or mostly flat mounting area to perform as designed. Instruments built with a slight arch to the back will allow for ToneWoodAmp to seat correctly.

Guitars with a more dramatically shaped back, like the bowl-shaped design on Ovation guitars, will not always work. The lower bout is simply too arched to allow the ToneWoodAmp to sit flat as is required for optimal performance.

Some Ovations owners who play models equipped with an electronics access plate have had luck positioning their ToneWoodAmp directly on the access plate itself, however!

Currently, we do not consider ToneWoodAmp to compatible with Ovation. We hope to have a solution for these instruments soon.
