Powering the ToneWoodAmp requires 3 AA batteries. We strongly recommend picking up a high-quality rechargeable. We like the Tenavolts. 

For best performance, use only high-quality, high-drain batteries like Tenavolts, Panasonic Eneloop Pro (2550mAh+), Duracell, or Energizer. Bargain brands will not last long comparatively.
